Art smells good

Today I figure modeled after not doing it for a week. It was a pretty chill gig, just a half hour of 1 to 5 minute poses followed by a two and a half longer pose.

I haven’t modeled at this venue in quite a while, and it felt good to be among the familiar painting and sculptures lining the halls. Several artists have studios in the building, and two rooms are used for teaching.

This place has baroque chandeliers, squeaky hardwood floors that haven’t been refinished perhaps ever, high ceilings, gorgeous light, and nostalgic trimmings. It has peeling paint, floors dirty with months of charcoal shavings and dust, and solid furnishings. It smells like old wood and nostalgia.

This is an environment that makes me happy.
